On November 8th, 2009, it was blue skies for this year's Trosky Baseball's Last Chance Monterey Showcase. California State University Monterey Bay comfortably supported the 50 college and professional recruiters scouting the 160 high school and junior college players.
 
This year's showcase featured 72 pitchers, 40 more than in prior years. Games were played throughout the day and at the completion of each game, position players participated in a skills evaluation. Since pitching is the strength of a successful program, the coaches and scouts were excited to have the opportunity to see more pitchers in one day than any other event in the country.
