Coming within a whisker of the 2008 state tournament left the Carlyle Indians with an empty feeling in the pits of their stomachs.

This year, they're determined to satisfy those hunger pangs.

Four position starters and ace pitcher Tony Schaeffer return for the Indians, who finished 23-4 last year after a devastating 7-6, eight-inning loss to Stanford Olympia in the Class 2A Springfield Super-Sectional.
