LITTLE ELM, TEXAS - There is a picture of Brandon Herod pitching in a
high school baseball game, it's a time when things were good, before he
became hooked on painkillers. The day he injured his knee changing a
light bulb, changed everything. He was prescribed Hydrocodone and got
hooked. His dad Richard says the pills were easy for his son to get. "With just a phone call, never saw him, never called to make an appointment, just a phone call to the physician's cell phone. Done, had them that afternoon." Richard says Brandon went home with 120 pills at the highest possible dosage. Brandon was found dead the next morning.
