Judge Paul Gilfillan has put three sons through Notre Dame High School.

The oldest, Ben, made his name as a three-sport standout, with baseball his specialty. His accomplishments in football, basketball and baseball as well as a 4.8 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale earned him academic all-state honors from the Illinois High School Association.
