The Cal Golden Bears inked seven during the recruiting period. Perhaps the No. 1 guy in the Bears' class is Eric Jaffe out of Bishop O'Dowd.  Jaffe played on the 2009 Milwaukee Brewers Area Code Team.  Offensively he batted .471 with eight homers and drove in 25 in 2009. Not only did he succeed at the plate, but he did so on the mound, too. The big righty had a 1.91 ERA and won three games.  He posted 47 strikeouts in 33 innings of work. He is a solid two-way guy.

Here are the Cal signings.  Of the seven, six are from the high school ranks.

Derek Campbell        SS    R/R    Mater Dei HS (Irvine, Calif.)
Eric Jaffe        RHP/1BR/R    Bishop O'Dowd HS (Oakland, Calif.)
