 The Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association is proud to announce that the IHSBCA Summer State Tournament will now be known as the Phil Lawler Summer Classic. On July 30, 2009, before the State Championship Game at Benedictine University, the IHSBCA will have a Pre-Game Ceremony honoring Phil. The IHSBCAwill honor him with a plaque that will forever proclaim the IHSBCA Summer State Finals to be the IHSBCA Phil Lawler Summer State Championships.Also, the summer state champion will now receive the Phil Lawler Summer State Championship Trophy. Please join the IHSBCA on July 30 at Benedictine University to honor the man who's tireless dedication to Illinois High School Baseball has made our Summer State Tournament the successful tournament is has become.
